The Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce seeks to recognize member businesses and/or individuals that have made a significant impact in the community over the past year. Nominations should be made based on criteria listed under each category. Winners will be selected by the Annual Awards Selection Committee after review of each entry. Only complete nomination forms that adhere to all criteria listed will be reviewed.
Small Business of the Year
- Business with 20 or fewer employees in Thomasville-Thomas County
- In business for a minimum of 5 years
- Demonstrates visible growth and achievements
- Adheres to company’s brand promise
- Growth through revenue and creation of jobs
- Outstanding customer service
- Volunteerism of employee base
- Demonstrates economic support of the area business community
- Demonstrates measurable success as a business and/or as an employer
- Business has a clear plan for future growth of the organization
- Makes a positive community impact by investing both through business and community support
- Must be a current Chamber member
Large Business of the Year
- Business with more than 20 employees in Thomasville-Thomas County
- In business for a minimum of 5 years
- Demonstrates visible growth and achievements
- Adheres to company’s brand promise
- Contributions to employment and excellence in employee relations
- Proven business achievement
- Excellence in community relations, customer service and reliability
- Growth through revenue and creation of jobs
- Volunteerism of employee base
- Demonstrates economic support of the region
- Includes all corporations and industries located in Thomasville-Thomas County that do not manufacture a product
- Must be a current Chamber member
Non-Profit Organization of the Year
- Must be a 501© recognized organization serving the Thomas County area
- Committed to the service of others within the community and beyond
- Makes a positive community impact
- Fulfills community need(s) by adhering to organization’s mission
- Has an engaged Board and strong leadership
- Values partnerships and collaborations
- Demonstrates effective fundraising and resource development
- Shows exemplary support to the community while adhering to the non-profit's mission
- Must be a current Chamber member
Man and Woman of the Year
- Awards are given to local individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the community or have served Thomasville & Thomas County in important ways during the past year, or over a number of years. The nominee's records of community and civic involvement, work on behalf of a charitable organization, business or professional leadership, as well as any major personal achievements.
- Open to non-Chamber members
The Bob "Hutch" Hutchison Legacy Award
- Service and involvement in the Chamber and the community
- Recognizes staying power, longevity, and the ability to adjust to the changing economic climate
- Must be in business for at least 25 consecutive years
- Must have been a Chamber member for 10 consecutive years
Entrepreneur of the Year
- Demonstrates commitment, vision, calculated risk-taking, capacity for personal growth
- Demonstrates perseverance in the face of adversity and to overcoming obstacles
- Demonstrates entrepreneurial maturity by building strategic alliances and surrounding him/herself with talented people—individuals, teams, the Board, and a range of advisers/allies to ensure success for all
- Pioneers a new approach or technology
- Creates a culture of innovation.
Manufacturer of the Year
- The Manufacturer of the Year Award is an inaugural recognition of excellence in manufacturing. It celebrates the successes of manufacturers in the community: their innovations, philanthropy, technological advances, commitment to customer satisfaction, quality products and jobs.
- Must be a current Chamber Member
